Biography

Author, speaker, philanthropist and businesswoman, Tina Flaherty is a former TV and radio broadcaster, who arrived in New York from her hometown, Memphis TN, with $100 in her pocket and not knowing a single soul.

She went on to become the first female corporate vice president of three of America’s largest corporations: Colgate-Palmolive, Grey Advertising, and GTE (now Verizon).

Tina is the recipient of many awards and honors, including an honorary doctorate from St. John’s University and an Equal People Award recipient sponsored by the United Nations Decade for Women.  She was also selected by the National Conference of Christians and Jews as An Extraordinary Woman of Achievement.  The Writing Center at Hunter College gave her its Queen of Arts Award in 2008.

She is an active board member for the Irish Repertory Theatre, Origin Theatre Company, the Animal Medical Center, the Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation Inc., the Palm Beach Zoo and the Churchill Centre.

Tina is also the author of “The Savvy Woman’s Success Bible” (with Kay Gilman) and “Talk Your Way to the Top.”  “What Jackie Taught Us” from Perigee Books, a division of Penguin Random House, was first published in 2004.  The new commemorative edition with 14 new essays by prominent opinion leaders, was published in May 2014.

Tina lives in New York City with her two dogs, Jackie and Scarlett.
